  • Who manages the facility?

  • What are your opening hours?

    Our managing agent, First National Real Estate Broken Hill are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am to 5pm. Wednesday 9am to 5pm and closed on weekends.


    The storage facility in Eyre Street is available to customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – whenever you need access.


  • How big are your largest Units?

    Our largest units are 6m x 3m (18m2 or 37.8m3) and they are $50 per week.

  • What security do you offer?

    Access to our secure facility is restricted to tenants only.  This means the public isn’t walking or driving past your unit freely. Our facility is surrounded by high security fencing and is lit all night, from dust til dawn, with our security lighting. We have 2 locked access gates, one at the front of the property and one at the back onto the rear lane for easy drive through access. Our units are all individually locked with your own locks, meaning only you have the key to your unit.

  • Can I store anything in the units?

    Yes, anything except dangerous or flammable goods. Some are listed below. If you are unsure, please ask.

    • Hazardous, dangerous or flammable goods
    • Toxic, pollutant or contaminated goods
    • Gas bottles or petrol cans
    • Firearms, ammunition or explosives
    • Items emitting fumes, odours or smells
    • Illegal goods
    • Waste
    • Living plants or animals
    • Wheat bag warmers
    • Environmental harmful goods
    • Fertilisers
    • Perishable, goods or food
  • Do I need to take out insurance on my unit items?

    We would recommend contents insurance, just like you would with your items at home. If it’s important enough for you to store, then it’s important enough to insure. Contact your local insurance company to get a quote.


    Your goods are stored at your own risk. This facility is not liable for the loss or damage of items while stored on its premises.

  • What are the benefits of self storage?

    There are a variety of benefits to using self-storage, not at least saving your sanity. 


    People use our storage facility to declutter their homes or workplaces, to store seasonal items such as Equipment and Christmas decorations or to reduce stock-keeping costs. People selling their home often declutter it for sale then use it to storage items between settlement. It’s also a safe place to store valuables or collections.   • What is your access like?

    We have great, clear access to every storage unit. You can drive right up to your own roller door to load and unload. We have gates to the facility at the front road and another set (with the same key) into the back lane way if you don’t want to drive around the units. At dusk until dawn, sensor security lighting come on lighting up the facility – in case you need to access your unit at night. 

  • What if I experience a problem or need to report an issue?

    If you see any issues/ problems with the facility, please contact the team at First National Real Estate Broken Hill. They may not be aware of the issue. They will be able to help and / or get it fixed. Their number during business hours is 8088 4488 or if it’s after hours, or you want to send a photo, please email them at fnbrokenhill@email.propertyme.com.

  • How do I pay for a storage unit?

    First National Real Estate has many payment options available including BPay, Centrepay and Direct Debit. They try to make the process as easy and simple as possible for you.

  • Are you open public holidays?

    Yes, you will have access to your items whenever you need them, including public holidays.


    However, First National Real Estate office is not open on Public holidays. Storage units can be arrange on standard working days, which are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8.30am to 5pm and Wednesday 9am to 5pm.


  • What is the minimum or maximum time I can rent a unit for?

    There is no maximum time limit to hire a unit. The minimum time limit is 2 weeks. There are no lock in contracts. Just stay and pay for as long as you need.

  • Are your units insulated?

    Yes, all our storage units have roof insulation.

  • Where are you located?

    We are conveniently located in Eyre Street Broken Hill, between Bonanza Street and Rockwell Street. We are only 5 minutes (4kms) from First National office in Oxide Street in central Broken Hill.
